Gasparilla is Tampa's annual pirate invasion and parade. It is the city's largest party and attended by hundreds of thousands. The gasparilla invasion begins that day at 11:30 AM when the Jose Gasparilla sails from the Ballast Point pier across Hillsborough Bay, up the Seddon Channell and into downtown where the pirates sack the city.
